Anushka + Paul
A contemporary celebration of Indian craftsmanship, where every event explored a different cultural narrative through quiet, intentional design.
The Spirit of Banaras
Inspired by the timeless charm of Banaras, guests were welcomed through trees wrapped in sacred mauli threads and brass bells instead of a conventional entrance arch. A central bar and four jodhpuri cabanas, dressed in pastel Banarasi silks and rajnigandha strings, anchored the lawn, with all the textiles and cushions sourced directly from Banaras. Tables were decked with thoughtful details like mithai, laddoos, gajras, brass vessels, milk cans with flowers, and Kathak-inspired coasters; A personalised carrom board, a bangle stall, and a tota tarot reader brought together an experience that felt playful, immersive, and distinctly Indian.

A Candlelit Sufi Mehfil
The sangeet was an intimate Sufi mehfil, envisioned as an evening lit almost entirely by candlelight. Lucknowi fabrics dressed the tables and cushions, while fragrant Indian flowers like rajnigandha and roses were paired with Hyderabadi crystal shamadaans and thousands of flickering candles. The stage was designed across multiple levels, allowing each artist their own space, with cascading rugs softening the structure and individual chandeliers suspended above every performer. The bar completed the design language, with its façade draped entirely in turkish rugs too.

Marigold Mandi
Set amidst the lush gardens of Oberoi Udaivilas, we reimagined the humble marigold as the hero of the celebration! We drew inspiration from the vibrant Indian flower mandis and incorporated marigold potlis, but wrapped these with silver gota fabric; hanging marigold gucchas, and carpets of these blooms were layered throughout the space. The silver charpais added a striking contrast to traditional handcrafted furniture. Block-printed cushions also echoed the circular form of the marigold rangoli, and raw materials like wood, terracotta and jute brought warmth, texture and an understated Indian charm to the celebration.

Simplicity on the Hilltop
The wedding celebrated the beauty of simplicity, set on a secluded hilltop overlooking the lake at Oberoi Udaivilas. A low, intimate mandap dressed with Turkish rugs overlooked an aisle lined with desi gulab petals, with generous mounds of the same blooms framing both the pathway and the ceremony. The reception embraced the open landscape with a live band, an inviting bar, and an uninterrupted dance floor at its heart. A long grazing-style dining display, composed of round tables in varying sizes, was layered with flowers, seasonal fruits, and carefully curated antiques, allowing the setting itself to remain the true hero.
